eLearning:
EBSA Horizons

by EdPsychEd

This is a comprehensive course on Emotional Based School Avoidance develops professional understanding and skills to support children and young people experiencing difficulties attending school. EdPsychEd prepared the script and content of the course, then I coached Jerricah on how to record with specific equipment in her home. Once the recordings were ready, I transformed it into animated videos. It was really inspiring and eye-opening to edit/animate this course!

We created two versions of this course, one aimed at Educational Psychologists and one aimed at School Staff.

Versions of this course

Due to demand, we created a second version of the course aimed at school staff, and another aimed at parents

Example videos from the course:

This video explains the Cycle of Change Model developed by Dr Cathy Atkinson, and applies it to students experiencing EBSA.

This video explains Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Model, and how that relates to experiences of EBSA.

and additional graphics

I also created the certificate of completion, the course logo, various infographics for handouts, etc.

A fantastic course that will fill you with all the knowledge you need to understand EBSA, and some great tools and strategies to support professionals and YP in overcoming the barriers to education. I think anyone who works with YP and education should do this training!
