eLearning:
Executive Functions: Connecting into Practice

by EdPsychEd

In this practical and resourceful CPD course, Dr Rebecca Ashton covers all aspects of Executive Functions: from understanding components of EF and typical development, to assessment, formulation, and models of intervention used within consultation. EdPsychEd prepared the script and content of the course, then I coached Rebecca on how to record with specific equipment in her home. Once the recordings were ready, I transformed it into animated videos.

It was SO fascinating to edit/animate this course! I definitely unlocked an interest for neuroscience while working on this.

This video explains concepts from neuroscience. Note for example how images from textbooks (used with permission) were animated.

In this video, I animated the Harvarad University air traffic control model of executive functions that Dr Ashton so wonderfully explains.

In this video, Dr Ashton explains several of the standardized options for testing working memory.

It is a very good, detailed and thorough course split into sections. Enables you to come and go instead of doing it all in one go. Lots of learning, practical resources and food for thought.

A very practical course, which marries up theory and practice well. Something that you don’t have to do all in one go, but which makes sense quickly when you pick up again.

An amazing course that will help you focus on EF across all aspects of CYP functioning and reframing difficulties within the home and school. Really enjoyed doing it, thanks.
