In this art documentation video, I captured the installation work of Annika Stridh (yes, my little sis who I am ever inspired by!) The focus of the work is on the private space of the bedroom, and what that says about who inhabits it. The installation featured a laptop on the bed of the crying artist, calling in via Skype. At first, visitors think it is a recording, but then she speaks directly to them, referencing what the visitors are wearing, how they are responding. The visitors are seen, just as they are currently witnessing the artist. What is the line between performance and art, viewer and participant?
My role was to capture the installation and feel of the performance via a short video.

The soundtrack of this video (the artist’s voice) is meant to evoke the many ASMR videos that exist on the web. ASMR is a specific feeling that some people get when listening to a particularly soothing sound. For this video, the artist wished to highlight the unnerving feeling of closeness in the exhibit room with the added intimacy of an ASMR soundtrack.
I’ll make sure it shines!
